Would it be possible to have a racing mode involving two opposing teams each side equiped with a large nearly indestructible vehicle similar to the large fuel truck in the Road Warrior. Equiping this vehicle with a smoke screen could be cool. There could also be support vehicles but the only vehicles that would count in the race would be the two large ones that could have turrets and bench seating where passengers may also shoot from or repair the vehicle thus making the race a team effort. Support vehicles could have a front passenger seat mounted on the hood for a gunner or sniper. Weapons could include paint spray shooters to blind drivers or oil balloons to foil an opponents traction. The map would have to be massive simulating a highway with very few sharp turns in it and several laps may be a lot of fun.
The winner of the race would be the team whose massive vehicle completes the laps first. Race is also over when one teams massive vehicle is destroyed, the winning team being the one with the surviving massive vehicle.
How about a map where the highway goes completely around the map with dilapitated overpasses that have on and exit ramps. The contoured grade leading to the slope of the overpass should make excellent jumps also.
The roads connecting the overpasses should lead toward the center of the map where there are spawnpoints and vehicles. A person could respawn, grab a vehicle, and choose his route of intercept to get back in the action. This would only work if the checkpoints were able to discriminate between a regular vehicle and a massive vehicle so If it isn't I think I have another idea that is a little more complex such as placing a checkpoint close to where you get minor vehicles at and as soon as you jump in that vehicle the checkpoint could tag that vehicle as disqualified but still combat capable thus there would be only the two major vehicles actually being tracked by checkpoints.
