BF2 can have only 1 Weapon on Primary Firebutton (Left Mouse) and 1 on Secondary Firebutton (right Mouse).
This makes it difficult for a car to have more than 2 Weapons.
(Sidenote: ATM all MGs are Secondary and all the others Primary)

Here some solutions, pros and cons:

V1:
Driver uses 1 Primary and 1 Secondary.
When the car needs more than those 2, the codriver gets 1 Primary (and 1 Secondary)

Pro: Up to 4 Weapons per car, 2 weapons at the same time, Codriver is not useless, Codriver can control backwards-aligned weapons
Con: When there is no Codriver the car has much less firepower, There can't be 3 or more Prim. or Sec. Weapons (e.g 3 Prim 1 Sec)
(This is like in the current build)

V2:

Driver uses 1 Primary and 1 Secondary at the same time but he can switch to other Prims and Secs.
Optional: Codriver uses only backwards-aligned weapons
(Im not sure if it works to switch the weapons individually but I hope so ^^)

Pro: Good Firepower, "unlimited" weapons, 2 weapons at the same time
Con: not much or no work for Codriver

V3:

Driver uses only 1 Weapon at the same time but he can switch to all weapons (Prims and Secs)
Optional: Codriver uses only backwards-aligned weapons

Pro: "unlimited" weapons
Con: not much or no work for Codriver, less Firepower/time
(the weapons could be made stronger here to compensate the weakening)

If you have other suggestions post them here and I will reset the vote including the new solution.

I voted v2. In I76 you could fire all your weapons at once if you wanted to, so V2 IMO is the closest to I76. V3 would only allow 1 weapon to fire at once, so V2 IMO is the best choice, since you can fire 2 at a time.

I think the driver should have the backwards too, though I hardly see how we can make all of this work if someone jump in the car.

I voted V1.

It's like IS82, the classic standart. And the best option, i think

I voted for V3, but I do agree with Mystery. The way IS82 did it was fun, but more weapons would be nice. V2 willl give the car too much firepower. V3 is sort of in between the two so thats what I voted for.

I'm not really sure on which one is best but V3 kind of sounds the best as the driver has the power to use all weapons and no-driver has something to do using backwards-aligned weapons

I want pie.

Having someone else in the car w/me isn't like I76 at all. I think during racing it might be needed, but I'm not going to be a passenger. I want to drive and blow things up. ;)

V1, Seems most logical to me, and would make the co-driver more useful, which promotes teamwork.

Again, I really think we should ditch the "co-driver/shooter" concept. It was cool in Battlefield, but this is Interstate Nitro, where the driver controls the weapons. If multiple people are getting into 1 car, then there won't be many targets. If we promote 1 car for 1 person, there will be ALOT more action and IMO will be more fun. Especially if the driver can control ALL the weapons, including rear firing and droppers, just like Interstate 76! If we could make the numbers(1-4) fire each weapon directly, that'd be perfect, but I doubt that'll happen.

Hmm never thought about it that way, very very true, have to say I'd agree with you on that ;)

The only reason people get in the co-driver position is because there are no other cars available or they are too lazy. So there will need to be a lot more cars placed in a map which might cause lag.

That's also true but that's what testing is for. ;) We need to test these things but out from what I've seen we don't have many "active testers" about and most the developers are never on at the same time. :P

I don't think we should cater to the lazy, hehe. This isn't a lazy mod.
Also, I doubt lag will be an issue. The bf2 engine is pretty old and runs very well on most systems.

/agree. We should also test more often.
