FINALLY I found a good way to render a terrain background for Slick Track. I am very happy with the result
The map is in a very raw state, so my plan is to update this topic with the map progress.
The background terrain and its textures are made with GeoControl2, rendered in 3ds max via the panoramic exporter and than merged with a sky texture I found on the net. The terrain is made of the 3D mesh that was extracted from the original IS'76 game.
Next step is finishing the main terrain and also the surrounding terrain. This will be done with GeoControl too. Glad the terrain shader system is already set, this will speed the whole thing up quite a bit.
