Is it possible to launch a game with only 1 player (me)
I mean when i create a game for my own to try maps, vehicules, and even face bots; I put "number of player" to 1 (in bf2 multiplayer interface)
But when playing its shown: "need 1 more player to start playing"
So flag cannot be taken. Takes much time to finish a deathrace

I don't know if it's different with ot without bots.
I could have solved this problem myself I know how to configure a lan server for BF2. Here we have got this one, a laptop and a scrap one.

I'm not sure about the default settings of the lan server, will have to check them.

Where occurs this problem exactly?

I could set the numberOfPlayersNeededToStart to 1 by default then.

I also have adjusted the singleplayermenu to the new style (still fighting a few bugs) so that can be used for 1 man stuff later. (against Bots)

Or you can open the console window with the "~" key and type: sv.numPlayersNeededToStart 1

Nice! I do not know console commands. Would try it.
