Hi, I'm new here :)

First off, I want to say FANTASTIC WORK to everyone involved! I haven't played it yet, but the screenshots look amazing! I can't believe this has been going on for 3 years and I didn't even know about it until now...

Anyway, the point of my post is to ask about an intro movie and possibly new music to go along with it. I've been listening to the original I76 soundtrack a lot recently and it got me thinking it might be fun to throw together a track for ISN. I know people have talked about making an intro movie before -- maybe they were just joking, but is anyone still thinking about this? I don't really have any video talent myself, BUT, if someone was going to make an intro, I'd be really interested in recording some music for it. Any other musicians on here who would be interested in recording a cover of the original theme song? I play guitar, a little bass, know a little bit about mixing, and have some gear... Just a thought, could be fun...

I was also wondering: ISnitro will be multiplayer only, right? Are you planning on redoing all the old maps? You guys have done such awesome work so far. I really hope you can get the physics and damage system as close to the original as possible. To me, I82 was ruined because of the terrible physics and damage system :P

Keep it up!!! B)

P.S. Sorry if I didn't post this in the right section...

Hey and welcome!

We of course need an intro movie. I think I'm going to ask one of those great BF2-Movie-Editors out there :P
But we need more content first!

Currently we got a few of the original themes in the mod but it would be great if you could mix something!

Cool :P I think it's a great idea to keep those original tracks in it - they were SO good... If anyone else is interested in helping me do the theme song, just let me know! My buddy plays drums, so I'll see if he's got time to help me lay out the beat. I *think* I can do the guitar and maybe the bass. But I'd definitely need someone to blow that awesome sax solo. I think it'd be a nice tribute to that one minute of pure funk bliss that's always stuck in my head...

Heya! I have a 5-string ltd bass and a Gibson SG electric as well. So I'd be down for recording some music.

after giving me trouble for over a year, my HP laptop looks like it's finally kicked the bucket. I've never used a Mac before, but it looks like I may be making the switch from Pro Tools on Windows to Logic on Mac. will definitely be busy in the next few weeks but i'll see if I can throw together something music-wise...

So I finally got Logic up and running on the new MacBook. (By the way I have to say I LOVE this computer -- it just WORKS and that's so nice after using Vista for 2+yrs...). Here's a little something I threw together tonight. Pretty rough, but with a bit of work it might be usable. It's nothing without the bass and horns though :)

Phatty, I've been trying to sign up for MSN but the damn Windows Live site won't give me an account ;). If you have AIM, you can reach me at six6to8eight. Do you have Logic? Maybe you could throw down some bass. I think I have all the parts figured out... Any horn players out there?

Anyways give it a listen if you like. Just thought I'd try to keep a little something going on these boards -- they're always so quiet!

Hey Cass,

It's going a bit slow right now. I just picked up and moved to Paris from the states to study for a semester :D. Couldn't bring the guitar along, but I think I've got all those parts pretty much done.

I added some placeholder/filler stuff to give a better idea of how it might sound. Got some synth bass now and some really AWFUL horns that came with logic. I'm looking into a couple horn modeling programs to hopefully fix the terrible sound... The lead guitar part also is just a placeholder for the horns we can hopefully get in there.

Also ran out of chikka-wah-wah guitar at the end. Forgot how many measures there are before outro ;)

Without some funkyfunky basslines and good-sounding horns, it's doomed to be boring forever! I'm pretty busy at the moment but I'll see what I can do...

Hope everything's coming along okay on the dev side of things. Don't work too hard :P

P.S. phatty, the tempo is 125 BPM I believe in case you wanna lay down some bass. I've got Guitar Rig on here now too, so I can play with the sound, or you can.

Changed the horns to something that actually sounds realistic. Will finish the rest when I have time in a few weeks.

Finally ;)

DL without waiting:
http://ftp.isnitro.com/I'76-Reintro.mp3

The instrument on 11+ seconds sounds a bit reverberant.
The end is also is a bit abrupt.
And at 30+ seconds should be another wind instrument. Only drums is a bit monotonous.. I think you're working on that ;)

Thanks for the advice! The end's messed up because of the way I bounced it. In Logic it sounds right. I think you're right about 11sec, too much reverb. Don't really know what to do for the sax solo at 30+ sec but I'll think of something. I'm also going to add horns throughout when I've got access to a keyboard again. Thanks also for throwing it on the FTP. I hate hate hate megaupload.
